Job Description

Museum associates are an integral part of the Museum visitor experience. A Museum Docent at Hotel Del Coronado is responsible for selling tours and merchandise and answering historic inquiries from the visiting public. 

What will I be doing?

As Museum Docent, you would be responsible for selling tours and merchandise and answering historic inquiries from the visiting public. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Welcomes guests in a prompt and friendly manner. Responds to questions about hotel history and merchandise. Assists guests with purchases.
• Handles cash, processes refunds, exchanges, charges to credit cards and rooms
• Completes daily shift deposits and reports and other opening or closing duties.
• Assists in gift shop inventory by stocking items as they are delivered.
• Packs orders to be shipped.
• Maintains cleanliness of Museum by straightening items and dusting.

The hourly rate is $16.20 – $18.00 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
