Learning Content Manager | IHG Army Hotels

Job Description

Role Purpose

This role plays a central part in the development and management of IHG’s approach to learning content management. Reporting to the Director, Global Learning Effectiveness, you will join the Global Learning Strategy and Effectiveness Centre of Excellence, supporting the IHG University.  You will be responsible for the management, delivery and syndication of content at scale to provide a single source of truth for all IHG learning content. You will bring experience of learning content management strategy and practical implementation and above all a commitment to ensuring our content is managed consistently, efficiently and to maximum effectiveness.

  • Manage the centralization of all learning content by developing a content management architecture (permissions, folders, metadata list classifications and tagging) that will ensure the Learning Content Management System (LCMS) provides one single source of truth for all IHG learning content.
  • Develop a learning content management strategy, based on best practice, to support and evolve the IHG learning ecosystem.
  • Chair the Content Management Committee and define the maintenance process for evaluating governance across the platform.
  • Create and maintain standards, policies and processes that govern the use of the LCM platform (Xyleme).
  • Create, communicate and maintain content management and work execution processes, providing support to LCMS users, liaising with Global Learning Applied Technology teams and Global Design &Development teams to ensure content is published and delivered quickly and consistently, version control maintained and IHG IP protected.
  • Manage the accuracy and consistency of content across all learning platforms by providing content governance at the component level and a management process for updating content changes as they occur.
  • Managing user security permissions for content tools (ADOBE and Syndicate), applying restrictions to sensitive processes/procedures.
  • Manage and deliver LCMS reporting and analytics to provide an accurate and objective picture of our content engagement, consumption,  performance and user satisfaction.
  • Lead on guidance to content owners/developers to maximize evergreen content and re-purpose and re-utilize content.
  • Build out LCM as part of the IHG University ecosystem.
  • Stay up to date on emerging trends and technologies within field and adjacent to field and identify and apply as appropriate best practices.
  • Discover, assess, recommend, and implement platforms and tools to enhance our ability to deliver best-in-class content capabilities. 
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and launch new content and functionality, and measure results for continuous improvement.
  • Develop into a subject matter expert in one or more areas of analytics/content management.
  • Provide input into content management systems and content maintenance.
  • Lead on dissemination of collected data in a manner that facilitates appropriate decision making for stakeholders.
  • Coordinate/provide training to any new users.
  • Manage the licensing agreement.
  • Respond to technical support questions (tier 1 support, escalate to Xyleme).

What we need from you

Education

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Digital, Business, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.​

Critical expertise & experience

  • 2-3+ years’ progressive work-related experience in Interactive/Digital marketing, or Creative/visual merchandising. ​
  • Experience in the hotel, travel, or retail industry preferred. ​
  • Strong experience with eCommerce & interactive/digital marketing, including knowledge of innovative technologies, digital content management systems and online tracking.​

Technical skills and knowledge 

  • Ability to prioritize work within multiple projects simultaneously and quickly change direction based on changing needs and priorities.  ​
  • Expert knowledge of all aspects of content development and knowledge of CMS (Content Management Systems) authoring preferred​.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong verbal and writing and presentation proficiency​.
  • Ability to influence without authority and balance thought leadership with execution​.
  • Collaborative team player who excels at building relationships​.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a global team across regions.

Limited travel to the UK

Hybrid schedule – 1-2 days per week in the office

Based in the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area
