Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
- Performs preventive maintenance and repair duties on all building systems, equipment and tools.
- Operates and repairs energy management equipment.
- Operates life safety systems, maintenance and repair in public areas and guest rooms.
- The Level II Maintenance Engineer will perform many activities independently under general supervision of the Shift Supervisor.
- This position will also assist in the training of Level I Maintenance Engineers.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum two years experience in at least two of the following areas: heating, cooling, electrical or plumbing systems.
- Licenses or certifications in HVAC, Refrigeration, Electronics, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Welding of other electrical, structural, or building discipline is highly desired and preferred.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work as a team.
Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:
- Must be capable of maneuvering for prolonged periods of time, both inside and outside, sometimes in extreme temperatures.
- Must possess coordination and dexterity to work with power and hand tools such as drills, electric saws, hammers, sewer snakes, etc.
- Respond to visual and aural cues. Must be able to stoop, bend, jump and carry heavy loads.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds. Must be able to maneuver on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.
- Must be able to think clearly and respond calmly in all situations.
- Must be able to learn and retain locations, operation and repair procedures of the property mechanical systems, equipment and life safety system.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
