Job Summary:

As a Stewarding Supervisor at Regent Santa Monica Beach, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency within our culinary and dining areas. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing the stewarding team, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards, managing inventory, and contributing to the seamless functioning of our culinary operations.  

A little bit about your day:

Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, every day is different, but you will mostly:

  • Promote Regent’s service philosophy and style through our people attributes. 
  • Maintain impeccable personal grooming standards to uphold the professional and property style of the resort.
  • Supervise and guide the stewarding team, holding regular meetings and training sessions to enhance performance and uphold service standards.
  • Oversee kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and efficient dishwashing processes. Manage proper waste handling and recycling.
  • Keep precise records of kitchen supplies and equipment. Coordinate with procurement for essential items and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Enforce hygiene and safety standards per local health regulations through inspections to identify and address hazards.
  • Facilitate communication between kitchen staff and other departments. Work with chefs and managers for smooth operations.
  • Train stewarding staff in cleaning, safety, and equipment use. Support skill development and career growth.
  • Handle operational challenges and resolve guest or staff complaints related to stewarding services.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices. Stay informed on industry trends and innovations in kitchen hygiene.

What We need from you:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant or hotel preferred. 
  • Proven experience in a similar supervisory role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. 
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, hygiene standards, and safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Knowledge of inventory management and ordering processes.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Willingness to assist in other areas when necessary and reasonable requested. 
  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What you can expect from us: 

The hourly pay range for this role is $24.92 to $31.15. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. A colleague’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, or any other form of compensation that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company’s sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
