If you share the same sentiment, then this opportunity is for you. Rosewood Little Dix Bay currently seeks a Sous Chef who is a well-rounded and seasoned individual to be a part of our iconic resort.
The role sits within our busy main kitchen assisting in managing and controlling the culinary department including food production, catering, stewarding and training, bringing international cooking skills and techniques to the creativity of the menu. Works alongside head chef to manage daily kitchen activities, including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring food quality and freshness, and monitoring ordering and stocking. Provides meal quality and consistency by following designated recipes.
Key Expectations
  • Supervision of the main kitchen including production, preparation and presentation, ensure the quality and consistency of service delivery in alignment with the overall hotel initiatives and brand service standards
  • Taking a leadership role in engaging with guests, associates and business partners to meet and exceed their needs.
  • Monitor and control labour and food costs in line with guidance from culinary management
  • Acting as a coach and mentor to more junior associates including conducting regular on the job training to elevate the skills in the team and strengthen the company culture.
  • Helping to manage cost and revenue in all areas of the restaurant without impact on brand, or quality standards.
  • Continuously identifying and developing areas for improvement and motivating the team to actively take part in the process to enhance the brand experience.

Minimum Requirements
  • Diploma in hotel management or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Minimum two-year experience in a similar role / capacity.
  • A well-rounded knowledge of cuisine potentially including the Americas, Europe and Asia
  • Exposure to 5-star luxury hotel environment preferred.
  • Culturally sensitive and able to able to work with a multicultural team,
  • Caribbean experience and previous hotel openings are added bonuses.
  • Able to drive with passion and lead with inspiration.
