JOB SUMMARY
The ideal sommelier candidate is proactive, upbeat, thorough, team-oriented, and has an immaculate attention to detail. The sommelier is responsible for delivering excellent wine service, while working with the service team to create world class hospitality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
– Actively engage in service and lead with a hands-on approach.
– Take the lead in growing wine sales in the restaurants.
– Maintain and update wine lists.
– Anticipate guest needs and maintain positive guest relations at all times.
– Advise guests on wines based on their personal taste and food pairings.
– Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and with the proper glassware.
– Maintain pars and report order needs.
– Help maintain the wine cellar, the beverage storeroom, and assist in monthly inventories.
– Create and participate in staff wine tasting and educational opportunities.
– Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas.
– Complete opening side and closing side duties thoroughly and efficiently as assigned.
– Model the company’s culture, vision, mission and core values at all times.
REQUIREMENTS 
– Experience as a sommelier in fine dining or luxury resort preferred but not required.
– WSET certifications or equivalent from another accredited wine institution.
– Passionate about wine, food, and world class hospitality.
– Warm, friendly and an excellent communicator.
– Extensive knowledge of wine and formal wine service.
