Job Description

Starting pay is $16.00 plus TIPS!

 

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Transport guests between the hotel and the airport as well as fulfilling all other hotel transportation requests. 

 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Includes, but is not limited to the following.)

 

Safely transport all Silver Legacy passengers.

Load and unload guest’s luggage from shuttle.

Closely follow prescribed shuttle schedules.

Perform proper pre and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with Department of Transportation standards and all applicable inspection reports.

Keep accurate Passenger Counts each shift on Passenger Count log.

Turn in all inspection reports and Passenger Count logs to the Valet Office at the end of each shift.

Provide outstanding guest service (give directions to hotel lobby, Bell Desk, shuttle schedule, etc…)

Keep vehicle assigned clean and free of trash.

Turn all passenger property left on bus into Security.

Safely operate the wheelchair lift and be familiar with proper restraining procedures of wheelchairs on board your vehicle.

Be available to be reached on radio at all times while on shift.

Be familiar with all shuttle vehicles within the Silver Legacy fleet.

Use vehicles, which reflect business levels, i.e. use a van when you are not busy passenger wise, etc…

Move luggage and or call a bell person as needed.

Pull luggage out of the luggage room for guests when bellmen is unavailable.

Observe and obey all applicable D.O.T. regulations and laws.

Ensure guest courtesy.

Maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.

Other duties as may be assigned.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to perform multi-tasks. Ability to safely operate large or oversized vehicles.  A positive attitude and team spirit on the job.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Education: High school education or equivalent preferred.

 

Experience: 2 years of safe driving experience in a vehicle.

 

Certificate/License: Valid Class “C”, with air brake and passenger endorsements, or higher Nevada Commercial Driver’s license. A DMV report is also required.

 

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Constant direct contact with guests. Fast paced work area that requires directing guests and answering guest questions.  Work may be performed in confined areas, entail various conditions of hot, cold, noisy, smoky, dimly lit or brightly illuminated, moving objects, slippery surfaces and exposure to solvents/oils, fumes/odors, dirt/dust. Work requires knowledge and use of electrical, mechanical and computer equipment and flame/heat generated devices. Work may be performed with others, around others, with verbal contact and/or face-to-face contact.  Work may include shift work and be performed inside and outside.

 

TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: (May be required in order to perform the essential functions of the position). Position requires Team Member to enter & exit from the Team Member entrance which entails 4 flights of stairs (40 steps). Requires seldom crouching, kneeling, pushing/pulling; occasional standing, reaching overhead, bending over, balancing, lifting/carrying up to 75 lbs.; frequent sitting, walking, driving of a vehicle, repetitive use of hands with light/firm grasping, finger dexterity, and good hand/eye coordination; near/far vision acuity, depth perception, field of vision and absence of color blindness.  Must be able to perform simple tasks, compile, coordinate, analyze, instruct others and drive a vehicle, follow instructions, influence others, meet time requirements; must have simple reading, writing, math, clerical, memorization, problem solving, use of independent judgment and decision making skills.
