Security Officer Dual Rate Supervisor (Swing Shift) | Caesers

Job Description

The Security Dual Rate Supervisor will act in a role of Security Officer or Security Supervisor 

depending on staffing needs within the department pertaining to both job descriptions. This position is 

generally at least 2 days per week in a supervisory role, and 3 days per week in a Security Officer role.

 

Security Officer Functions:

  • Provides friendly service to every customer.
  • Works closely with other departments to achieve property and department goals.
  • Protects company assets by adhering to Illinois gaming regulations.
  • Verifies jackpot payouts.
  • Observes money and chip transfers throughout the property.
  • Oversees admissions to the gaming area, and ensures every guest is over 21 years of age.
  • Patrols the property and observes/reports security related issues.
  • Performs security related duties as outlined in the Harrah’s Joliet Casino Internal Control Standards.
  • Provides Security Dispatch duties when required.

 

Security Supervisor Functions:

  • Assists Shift Manager in accomplishing departmental goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates all Security activity on an assigned shift.
  • Monitors incident reports ensuring accuracy and efficiency.  Initiates investigatory process when appropriate.
  • Appears in Court as needed.
  • Prepares work schedules and special details pertaining to shift.
  • Personally responsible for all compliance matters pertaining to Security.
  • Trains and coordinates staff to ensure compliance on all related policies.
  • Performs duties as assigned.
  • Acts as a role model and presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
  • Adheres to all department/company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • A minimum 18 months of Security experience preferred.
  • Investigative experience preferred.
  • Previous basic computer skills including Word and Excel.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must have strong supervisory and guest service skills.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts to include overnights, Holidays and weekends.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work in a smoke filled, noisy and crowded environment.

Job Demands:

  • Lifts up to a maximum of 20 lbs. and may occasionally lift up to 150 lbs. 
  • Must be able to carry objects weighing up to 20 lbs. 
  • Must be able to work in areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust. Position requires 40% standing, 20% sitting, 40% walking. 
  • Requires some bending, pushing, kneeling, stooping, and reaching overhead. 
  • Requires frequent climbing. Must be able to respond to touch, speech, smell, aural and visual cues. 
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment involving constant public contact.
