Job Description


A Retail Inventory Specialist is Responsible for coordinating movement of merchandise between warehouse and shop; responsible for assisting Shop Manager/Supervisor in all phases of inventory management in a timely, friendly and efficient manner in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

What will I be doing?

  • Responsible for merchandise flow from stockroom to shop.
  • Maintains store inventory levels, including stocking the store, monitoring best sellers and maintaining correct pricing of merchandise.
  • Communicates selling trends and highlights new merchandise arrival to Manager/Supervisor (Buyer’s Reports weekly).
  • Maintains Purchase Order book.
  • Possesses familiarity of key vendors.
  • Strategize with Manager/Supervisor on merchandise presentation in the shop.
  • Reviews shipping forms and customer special orders to ensure timely delivery of merchandise to guests.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the stockroom.
  • Maintains the organization and presentation standards of the sales floor.
  • Assist in corporate gift needs (packaging, delivering, etc.)


  • Interacts with guests on sales floor.
  • Presents features and benefits of the shop’s products.
  • Ensures guest service is in compliance with standards set by the Hotel and the Department.
  • Takes special orders for customers.
  • Closes sales with reinforcement.
  • Opens other stores when there are sick calls/gives breaks when needed.

The hourly rate is $18.62 to $21.90 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
