What we expect:  

Job duties include but are not limited to:  

  • Plan, organize, control and direct the work of employees in the Room Service Department while ensuring guest satisfaction. 

  • Motivate employees in Room Service to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met long-range strategic planning for outlet operation. 

  • The ability to be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts. 

  • Follow-up on service procedures and supervise the consistency of quality and efficiency of food and service. 

  • Ensure the cleanliness of Room Service and guest hallways by enforcing clean-up schedules. 

  • The ability to assist in preparation of staff schedules according to forecasts, daily and weekly payroll reports and scheduled functions. 

  • Continuous training program with entire service staff. 

  • The ability to participate in regular staff meetings to keep employees informed of hotel policies and changes as well as ways to increase sales and service. 

  • Ensure effective and efficient methods for setting orders. 

  • Train order takers in proper selling and telephone techniques. 

  • The ability to assume the role of the Assistant Room Service Manager in his/her absence. 

  • The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation. 

  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.  

Skills/Qualifications: 

Ideal candidate will have: 

  • Two to three years previous experience in a line, supervisory or assistant manager position in Food & Beverage. 

  • Knowledge of food & beverage service, cost control, labor control, maintenance, merchandising, and accounting. 

  • Requires ability to operate computer equipment and other food & beverage computer systems. 

  • Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language. 

  • This position requires an applicant with a flexible schedule and the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Full-Time (Mornings/Afternoons/Evening shifts – possible weekend shifts)
