Job Title: Private Equity Valuations & Analytics, Analyst

Job Description:                    

Blackstone’s Portfolio Management group is looking for an Analyst within its Private Equity Valuations & Analytics team. The core focus of the group is to evaluate, analyze and summarize valuation and performance results for Blackstone’s portfolios on a regular basis. In addition, the group is responsible for forecasting financials, producing fund level performance records and analytics, as well as preparing various LP and management reports and requests. Other responsibilities may include supporting the broader finance and investor relations teams on an ad hoc basis in dealing with clients and investors and in fulfilling management requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with updating valuation templates each quarter, including discounted cash flow (DCF), performance multiple (PM) and other valuation models
  • Compiling documentation to support actual financial and company comparable assumptions used in the valuation models
  • Assessing underlying assumptions used to develop DCF, performance multiples, and other valuations
  • Maintaining, preparing and analyzing summary valuation and performance schedules
  • Participating in discussions with and provide deliverables to various constituents, including Deal Analysts, Investor Relations, and Senior Management as well as External and Internal Audit groups
  • Updating quarterly planning models to reflect actual performance, and roll future cash flows. Completing variance analyses
  • Assessing value creation drivers that have contributed to changes in valuations over the holding period of each investment
  • Assisting in enhancing the group’s reporting processes, procedures and analytics
  • Participating in various group initiatives and projects

                    

Qualifications:            

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a quantitative discipline (preferred)
  • 1+ years of experience in a valuations, transaction advisory, consulting, or related role
  • Strong academic performance record
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment while handling multiple projects
  • Keen attention to details
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment or individually
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Previous valuation experience and working knowledge of Capital IQ and Bloomberg are a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required

Expected annual base salary range:

$90,000 – $125,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
