Job Description

Job summary –

Main purpose of a server in the lobby is to serve all beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to guests in keeping with hotel standards. Ensure consistent products and services. Collection of all menus or transfer of bill to other outlets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities)

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

· Thorough knowledge of alcoholic beverages and proper service procedures. Thorough knowledge of alcoholic beverages, wine and champagne, food menus and proper service procedures.

· Ensure opening duties are performed as posted at the beginning of each shift. Ensure closing duties are performed as posted at the end of each shift.

· Responsible for guest relations including guest’s name and product preferences. Ensure proper quality of food and beverage products.

· Ensure drinks and food are served in a timely manner.

· Thorough knowledge of and correct application of all hotel policies, procedures, and practices. Maintain all standards as set by RMOTC.

· Monitor guests’ consumption of alcohol and knowledge of procedures for handling intoxicated guests.

· Ensure all checks are collected and closed accordingly. Thorough knowledge of the Agilysis system and codes.

Experience –

· Minimum of one year experience in food and beverage casually elegant upscale environment.

· Per TABC regulations must be at least 21 years old.

Technical Skills –

· Must have alcohol server’s certification or become certified as required by company policy.

· Cash handling experience.

· Professional presentation.

· Refined communication skills.

· Interpersonal skills conducive to guest/customer service environment.

· Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to read and understand instructions, safety rules, etc.
