Manager, New Hotels Opening, MEA | IHG Army Hotels

Job Description

Role Purpose

Manage New Hotels Openings is based in Dubai will work together with the owning company as the project moves through the pre- opening process. This includes an orientation to the owning company on IHG ways of working, project kick-off meetings, development of the pre-opening budget and regular catchups to ensure the project is moving at pace.

Key Accountabilities

  • Be the main point of contact with project team and ownership
  • Work closely with Design and Engineering team on project updates and progress, support in escalating any potential risks to ownership.
  • Liaise with core team and key functions to ensure all pre-opening tasks are completed in timely manner toward opening date.
  • Ensure all pre-opening milestones are completed according to agreed timeline.
  • Ensure HOM and one force systems are up to date.
  • Communicate on regular basis projects updates,progress and accomplished points
  • Ensure all governance, licenses and insurances are fully compliant before opening inline with HMA.

Key Skills & Experiences

Education Qualifications –

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Hotel Management 

Experience –

  • 3-5 years’ hotel opening experience or similar
  • Experience of managing teams, preferably cross-functional/discipline teams as well as with and without direct hierarchical authority (i.e. external teams or teams from other functions with no direct line management authority)
  • Project management experience in a matrix organization overseeing multiple business units.
  • Previously worked within an international or global organization

Required Skills 

  • Project management and delivery
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, with strong negotiation, impact and influence and problem solving skills
  • Able to work under pressure and prepared to travel extensively within Europe
  • People- and task-oriented
