Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY The position is responsible and accountable for preventative maintenance of all facilities, property and equipment, and in accordance with all established policies and procedures set forth by the company. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements are intended as general examples of the duties of this position and are not allinclusive. Other reasonable duties may be assigned.

 1. Ensure at all times operating principles are being adhered to:

 a. Clean – Keep all areas clean and pristine. 

b. Safe – Follow all safety policies and procedures. 

c. Friendly – Use customer courtesy skills to provide superior guest service. 

d. Fun – Have fun! 

Be interactive with all internal and external guests while maintaining professional standards. 

2. Responsible for general maintenance of all facilities on property and the property itself. Identify deficiencies related to maintenance of such facilities. 

3. Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and replacing gaming table layouts. Identify the need for maintenance/repair of layouts. 

4. Knowledge of the HVAC system, alarm system, and generators. Identify and diagnose deficiencies with the system and take measures to correct deficiencies. 

5. Identify the need for and perform mid-level to advanced level painting, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and other projects related to the maintenance of the property. 6. Assist with creating preventative maintenance schedule and follow such schedule. 

7. Ensure the safety and security of all guests and employees. 

8. Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and welcoming attitude. Complete knowledge of all facilities and entertainment available to guest. 

9. Other duties as assigned 

MARGINAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (performed infrequently)

 1. Construction and renovation projects as needed. 

2. Landscape and grounds projects as needed. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS The position is responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor for successful performance of assigned duties. 

EQUIPMENT/PHYSICAL SKILLS Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, the following: • Hand tools • Power tools • Machinery that relates to the function of a maintenance shop • Chemicals • Ladder • Bucket truck • Forklift • Safety equipment

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Physical demands associated with the position including, but not limited to, the following: • Standing/walking – 20% • Sitting – 5% • Lifting – 15% (50lbs overhead, arms length up to 20lbs, without assistance) • Physical Activity – bending (from waist), stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing, and reaching – 60% All facilities on property. Some confined areas. Exposed to hot and cold temperatures. Varied weather conditions, fumes, and chemicals used in maintenance. Casino environment that may be located on a boat and/or floating barge, high-rise hotel and atrium. Exposed to smoke, bright lights, and noise. 

ESSENTIAL JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES 

1. Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions. 

2. Ability to use all necessary tools and equipment to perform maintenance functions. 

3. Answer all calls promptly and maintain politeness. 

4. Pay attention to the needs of employees and guests at all times. 

5. Knowledge of OSHA required standards and safety requirements. 

6. Knowledge of personal protective equipment. 

7. Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment. 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING 

• High school diploma or GED equivalent 

• Certification in trade 

• Three to five years’ experience in facilities maintenance and 2+ years in the Maintenance Technician I or a combination of education/experience 

• Successful completion of a Multi-Skill MC-C skills assessment

 • Ability to obtain any and all licenses, certifications, insurance coverage or any other indemnifications which may be required by the company for the successful completion of the duties associated with this position. 

• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company requirements relative to the operation of automobiles, electric, or gas powered carts, electric or gas powered sweeper equipment, and man lifts. 

• Ability to obtain and hold a Responsible Vendor’s card.
