Job Description

Develops Enthusiastically Satisfied Customers All of the Time:

1. Welcomes and connects with every customer.

2. Demonstrates the “just say yes” behavior by taking care of customer needs.

 

Maintains Quality Store Operations:

3. Assists store manager in hiring new employees.

4. Coaches new hires through their learning.

5. Follows and direct others to follow store policies and procedures for operational flow at each station.

6. Ensures all company policies, store operating standards, and procedures are communicated effectively and maintained and followed in a consistent manner.

7. Organizes work throughout store in a manner that facilitates efficient customer service and profitable operation.

8. Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.

9. Performs and directs others to complete the cleaning and operational tasks in accordance with the store Duty Rosters.

10. Follows and directs others to follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing all products.

11. Places orders and performs special projects to assist with shift operations.

12. Assists in store scheduling and adjusts staffing to meet store and business needs.

 

Financial Contribution:

13. Contributes to store goals for increasing sales and improving profit.

14. Assists store manager with accounting and banking responsibilities.

15. Records and is accountable for store funds while running a shift.

16. Ensures all cash handling and cash register functions are performed in an accurate and consistent manner.

17. Maintains some accountability for store operations, associate development and financial contribution.

18. Ensures the proper types and amounts of materials, supplies and merchandise are ordered and stocked. Effectively communicates new product information to employees.

 

Takes Responsibility to Learn All Aspects of the Shift Supervisor Position:

19. Acts as a role model while providing guidance and training to store employees on all the performance expectations.

20. Ensures employees adhere to the meal and break policies.

21. Demonstrates and ensures all Starbucks standards are followed.

22. Communicates store and associate concerns to the store manager in an effective manner.

23. Successfully completes and implements Advanced Store Training.

24. Is certified as an in-store learning coach to facilitate ongoing training of new baristas.

 

Develops Employees:

25. Trains and develops employees to demonstrate all Starbucks customer service standards, operating standards and Star Skills.

26. Responsible for ensuring the training integrity of baristas by coaching Initial Store Training.

 

Qualifications:

Positions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy environment, and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products. Also, non-public contact positions may be required to enter public areas from time to time, in connection with their duties, and may be subject to the same environment.
