POSITION PURPOSE
Under general supervision, prepares and serves specialty drinks to guests and processes all sales transactions. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Determine guest needs and suggest products to enhance service and meet sales goals.

2. Assists customers in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages, whole bean, pastry and retail purchases.

3. Prepare a variety of food orders and beverage orders according to established recipes and outlet standards.

4. Maintain buffet dessert area, including but not limited to ensuring adequate desserts are stocked and plated correctly.

5. Operate electronic cash register system to accurately and immediately account for payment transactions and transports monies to and from the main credit cage.

6. Ensure outlet is setup, maintained and stocked according to established standards.

7. Uses and maintains all assigned areas and equipment in a sanitary, safe and effective manner.

8. Perform all job functions in conjunction with the guidelines described in the Standard Operating Procedures manual to ensure consistent execution of company and department standards.

9. Ensure that all unused food items are stored properly.

10. Ensure that all dishware, utensils and equipment are cleaned and stored properly at the end of the shift.

11. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

12. Shift ending cleaning duties and stocking are completed as assigned.

13. Maintain work area in a safe condition, taking care of spills and other hazards as necessary.

14. Follow established food and safety standards.
 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate guests
* Demonstrated money-handling and math skills 
* Demonstrated ability to operate computerized cash register.

  • Ability to be physically mobile, and stand/walk for 8 to 12-hour shifts.
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in areas containing dust, secondhand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibrations, crowds and air quality.
  • Must present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required.

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through at least 6-months on-the-job training or experience directly related to the accountabilities specified.
