Job Description

Rate of Pay: $18.33/hour

Oversee entire Room Service operation for an assigned shift or in lieu of manager. Assists in scheduling staff, ordering product, evaluating employees, notify the Manager on duty of any requests for disciplinary action and other administrative tasks. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures. Responsible for prompt, friendly and courteous service to guest rooms. 

  • Present a professional manner at all times. 

  • Ensure guest satisfaction by adhering to Standards of Service Manual as specified for Room Service Department. 

  • Assist employees as needed to ensure the best possible service. 

  • Ensure all Special events and amenities are properly presented in accordance with guest and hotel specifications and standards. 

  • Maintain established controls for stock with pars and orders. 

  • Enforce Security controls (keys, lockdown, etc.) to include control of beverage par stock. 

  • Document all incidents in detail. 

  • Supervise All Room Service hourly employees  

  • Assist in special guest functions in the room as per the guest requests  

  • Responsible for all training and development.  

  • Responsible for correctly handling cash, credit and comp procedures and properly completing paperwork.  Responsible for taking telephone orders from guests 

  • Inspect staff as to uniforms, cleanliness, identification, etc. 

  • Ensure a safe working environment for employees. 

  • Follow the Food safety and sanitation policies of food and beverage department. 

  • Is aware about the food and beverage offerings in the store and general awareness on the offerings throughout the resort. 

  • Maintain the Private bar store and manage the par levels for the products. 

  • Assist in the service or side duties in other food and beverage areas as per requirement. 

  • Communicates daily with management team via email or person to ensure all pass down is done in a timely manner. 

  • Other job related duties as assigned by the Manager 

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills.   

  • Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.   

  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff & guests.     

  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.   

  • Ability to assist manager and cashiers in all areas of departmental responsibility.    

  • High School Education or equivalent.   

  • Prior restaurant experience preferred. Sanitation Certificate.  TIPS Training or equivalent. 

  • Must have minimum of 2 years’ experience in room dining department.   

  • Must have knowledge and understanding of Food & Beverage, incl. Wines and Liquors. 

  • Must have strong PC skills in meeting administrative requirements.

  • Requires being mobile 100% of the shift including maneuvering through crowded areas.  May require bending and reaching in areas from floor level to 6 ft. high.  Requires lifting of up to 30 lbs.   

  • Pushing, pulling Room Service carts for extended periods of time weighing up to 70 lbs.   

  • Requires normal sense of smell, taste, touch and sound.  Requires normal vision range and absence of color blindness.  Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.  Requires regular, predictable attendance.   

  • Work is performed in an area, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy and smoky.   

  • Work may be performed in small areas having a 3-ft. access and at a height of 4 ft.
