THE JOB:

The Horticulture Laborer position is primarily responsible for maintaining the day-to-day cleanliness and organization of all indoor and outdoor landscape areas.

THE STARTING RATE:

  • $18.90/hour

THE DAY TO DAY:

  • Responsible for always maintaining the MGMRI standards of service to guests and coworkers.
  • Clean landscape areas to include rock application, raking, blowing, washing, and similar activities.
  • Transport required plants, equipment and supply materials to designated work areas. 
  • Receive, inventory and track plant and supply orders.
  • Perform labor activities related to landscape repairs, demolition and installation including trenching, digging, backfill, debris disposal and similar activities.  Water and clean plants as instructed to include nursery stock.
  • Properly use a variety of manual hand tools such as rakes, hand saws, pruning shears, shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, spreaders/sprayers, sod knifes and hedge shears.
  • Operate specialized power and motorized equipment such as blowers, hedge trimmers, light tractors, lawn mowers, chainsaws, and rototillers.
  • Drive and operate company vehicles, trailers, and/or specialized carts to travel between properties and transport materials and equipment.
  • Clean and maintain gardening tools, equipment, and supply areas to ensure good working condition.
  • Follow MGMRI policies and procedures, and operate mobile devices for work order response, creation and completion.
  • Inspect work area to identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisor or management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 1+ years of prior relevant experience as a commercial porter
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
