Job Description

Main Focus
• Delivering all bar-related aspects of the guest experience according to Rosewood standards.
• Efficiently preparing drinks, setting up & breaking down of the bar in line with Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s).
• Effectively communicating, prioritising, and delegating tasks in a sophisticated environment.
• Ensuring the best range of quality drinks are available by trained, knowledgeable staff as quickly and efficiently as possible.
• Taking a proactive approach in developing Bartenders, Barbacks and ultimately the overall guest experience.
• Continuously drive the quality of product and deliver excellent results.
Guest Satisfaction
• Ensures that all associates deliver the brand promise and always provide exceptional guest service.
• Handles all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
Finance
• Maximizes associate productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking, and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests.
Marketing
• Evaluates local, national and international market trends, vendors and other hotel/restaurant operations constantly to make sure that the hotel’s operations remain competitive and cutting edge.
• Is savvy of the local scene and maintains strong network of contacts to entertainers, barmen.
• Maintains a close relationship with regular patrons and entertains whenever appropriate.
Operations
• Ensures that minimum brand standards have been implemented.
• Ensures that all Food and Beverage essentials are implemented.
• Responds to the results of the consumer audit and ensures that the relevant changes are implemented.
• Tastes and monitors the beverage products served throughout the operation, provides feedback where appropriate.
• Conducts frequent and thorough inspections.
Human Resources
• Oversees the punctuality and appearance of Bar associates, making sure that they wear the correct uniform and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, according to the hotel and department’s grooming standards.
• Maximizes the effectiveness of associates by developing each of their skills and abilities through the appropriate training, coaching, and/or mentoring.
CRITICAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required skills
• Ability to work in a team and build relationships with the others.
• Proficient and Fluent in Spanish and English as a must.
• Being highly organised and proactive in managing your tasks.
• Having a passion for guest service and the art of cocktails crafting.
• Possessing a thorough understanding of Mixology and bartending in a high volume, upscale environment.
• People person and good motivator
• Solid leadership and training skills
• Finger on the pulse in market trends and changes
Qualifications
• Hotel Management or business degree preferred
Experience
• 5+ years experience in Bar operations or freestanding lifestyle restaurants
• Experience with leading bars and restaurant background
• Has previously worked in the local/national bar scene
