JOB OVERVIEW

The Service Specialist is responsible for offering guests of the restaurant an enjoyable, expertly served beverage/dining experience. This individual must be comfortable discussing food and wine choices with guests in detail. The Service Specialist will be responsible for setting up tables, serving food and beverage to guests, and clearing/cleaning tables. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Good knowledge of the wine list and cocktails with the ability to effectively provide descriptions to our customers of wines by the glass and signature cocktails as a minimum.
  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests. 
  • Properly and accurately close guest checks in Micros.
  • Process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals.
  • Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the outlet and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.
  • Provide the service of food to guests.
  • Assist in making dining reservations and seating of guests.
  • Assist with the cleaning of operational areas.
  • Ensure full understanding of the menu with the ability to effectively provide our customers with detailed description of dishes.
  • Coordinate set-up requirements for hotel and off-site functions according to the banquet event order; communicate directly with group contacts, Catering Managers, and Conference Services Managers to ensure that all details of the function are carried out.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • One to two years previous experience in a line, Food & Beverage.
  • Knowledge of food & beverage service
  • Requires ability to operate computer equipment and other food & beverage computer systems.
  • Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.

What to Expect

This position is offered for a define period of time of 12 months with a possible unlimited extend based on your performance. Your trial period will be 3 months.

Feedback is a key; therefore, you will be asked to give your feedback on regular basis and you will also have an informal chat with your manager and trainer.
