THE JOB:

The Fine Dining Host at L'Atelier plays a crucial role in crafting a memorable experience by warmly welcoming guests and infusing the atmosphere with their vibrant personality. They ensure the restaurant is immaculate, organized, and well-stocked, all to deliver an exceptional dining experience that leaves a lasting WOW impression on every guest.

STARTING RATE: $20.936 an hour

RESTAURANT HOURS: Sunday, Monday, Thursday to Saturday: 5pm to 9pm

                                          Tuesday to Wednesday: Closed

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Reservation Coordination: Collaborate with Restaurant Reservations to handle special orders and guest requests, ensuring all details are communicated promptly to management.

  • Guest Information: Stay informed about daily activities, in-house groups, table setups, and key restaurant details such as hours, price range, and dress code to provide accurate information to guests.

  • Welcoming Atmosphere: Greet guests warmly and promptly upon arrival to create a welcoming environment.

  • Call Management: Manage incoming calls, maintain an accurate reservation count, and handle the reservation book efficiently.

  • Menu Maintenance: Ensure menus are current and replace any worn-out menus in a timely manner.

  • Guest Feedback: Communicate guest needs to the kitchen and management, provide feedback on guest experiences, and assist management in ensuring seamless service and high-quality standards.

  • Waiting Guest Updates: Regularly check on waiting guests, update them on their status, and keep them informed about table preparations.

  • Work Area Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in assigned work areas, ensuring a hygienic and inviting environment for guests.

  • Podium Shutdown: Properly shut down the podium at the end of the shift and forward calls to the voicemail system.

  • Additional Duties: Perform other job duties as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work Schedule: Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Fine Dining Experience: Possesses previous experience in a fine dining environment, understanding the nuances of high-end service and maintaining an elevated standard of guest interactions and presentation.

  • Exceptional Phone Etiquette: Demonstrates clear, professional, and courteous phone communication skills, handling inquiries and reservations with confidence and efficiency.

  • Outstanding Customer Service: Provides a warm and welcoming experience for guests, effectively addressing their needs and resolving any issues to ensure a high level of satisfaction.

  • Proficient in MS Office: Skilled in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) for managing reservations, tracking guest information, and performing administrative tasks.

  • Experienced with POS Systems: Familiar with POS systems for processing reservations, managing guest information, and coordinating with the kitchen and staff to ensure smooth service.

  • Strong Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely and effective communication with both guests and team members.
