Job Description

Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Events & Promotions Manager; ensures activities are being held to a high standard of service and efficiency in execution.  In this role, you will manage the operations and execution of special events that may be both on and off site.  This role will interface with all sub-departments within the Resort and Gaming Marketing departments. Assists with planning and executes assigned events, promotions and other projects as needed.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Supervises the Events & Promotions Operations Team.
  • Provides corrective and positive feedback to Promotions Lead Associates & Associates on job performance and job related behaviors.
  • Schedules Promotions Lead Associates, Associates and Internal Temp teammates to ensure events & promotions have proper staffing.
  • Conduct Performance Reviews for Promotions Lead Associates & Associates and makes or recommends wage increases and promotions.
  • Works closely with Events & Promotions Planning Supervisor to ensure all event operations are executed at a high standard.
  • Responsible for buzz sessions and team meetings. Works closely with Special Events & Promotions Manager to develop fun, interactive, and informative meetings and buzz sessions.
  • Design creative ways to attract event attendance and engage attendees.
  • Work with Events & Promotions Planning Supervisor and Coordinators to thoroughly think through all events & promotions logistics to creatively bring events to life.
  • Supervise daily operations of the Promotions Center and team members.
  • Complete accurate B.A.S.E. standards for all guest facing team members.
  • Ensure all Promotions Lead Associate and Associate assignments are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintenance of our booth equipment, including props, event equipment, decorative materials, and tools.
  • Management of promotional item inventory.
  • Ensures effective utilization of process management skills and tools to assist with the development, pre and post analysis for promotions/events.
  • Creates and adjusts department templates as needed for executional responsibilities.
  • Keeps abreast of competitive casino marketing events and promotions, especially in the Southern California markets.
  • Utilizes all computer systems in the Special Events/Promotions office to input and extract data for required information.
  • Maintains security and confidentiality of files, records and lists.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of property and department policies and procedures and adherence to the attendance policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or credits desirable with Marketing, Communications or Business concentration or equivalent or comparable experience.
  • Two years in organizing promotions/events within a casino environment. 
  • Must have a strong understanding of Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Must have strong problem-solving abilities, combined with a capacity to work independently and make appropriate decisions without supervision.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects at one time and to react well under pressure. 
  • Must be able to interact well with internal and external customers and work as a team member. 
  • Must have strong leadership qualities and have the ability to handle all team member issues.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours. 
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.

 Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:

  • Must be able to continuously maneuver around office. 
  • Must be able to move quickly around property during events. 
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, twist and work at a desk. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds. 
  • Respond to visual and oral cues. 
  • Must be able to conduct conversations with customers, respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest concerns. 
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be self-motivated. 
  • Able to read, writes speak and understand English. 
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate the computer and other necessary office equipment. 
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke.
