To begin in 2024, Rosewood Amsterdam is currently seeking a motivated and dynamic Director of Wellness who is a well-rounded and seasoned individual to be part of our award-winning team.
Job Summary
The Director of Wellness will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Asaya Spa and fitness area including ensuring the highest standards are adhered to and that guest experience exceeds expectations. Part of this role’s remit is to maximize revenue and operating profit for our spa and be responsible for developing the teams’ knowledge, skills and service. The Director of Wellness will build and nurture relationships with the team to ensure they provide an engaging, intuitive and refined service to our residents and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures equipment is maintained in good working order and maintains a high level of safety in the workplace.
  • Effectively integrate the Spa within the Hotel Marketing Strategy and to ensure ongoing representation of the Spa.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance Business Partner on forecasts, stock levels, requisitions, budget, targets etc. and ensure a par stock level appropriate to business demands.
  • Prepares monthly financial and statistical reports, incorporating proposals and recommendations regarding policy and operation at the Spa, taking into account competition, occupancy and usage, market share and achievement of targets.
  • Liaise with the Director of Communications in the preparation and development of marketing plans for the year and coordination of all promotional plans and projects.
  • Responsible for motivating and driving sales and establishing targets, which are realistic and achievable.
Required Skills:
  • Technical Skills and Knowledge of Spa Management Software.
  • Well organized, self-motivated, and a good team player.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and detail-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and extract trends from current and future business.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A combination of education and relevant field experience
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and control
  • Several years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Knowledge of current health and safety regulations related to Spa
  • A proven track record of working well on their own initiative and as part of a team
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
  • A valid work permit for the Netherlands is required to be considered for this role.
