THE JOB:

As a Dishwasher at Excalibur, you will be tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishware, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a tidy and organized work area, adhering to health and safety standards, and following any specific instructions given to you for assigned tasks.

STARTING RATE: $22.22 an hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Dish Collection and Cleaning: Gather and clean pots, pans, dishes, glassware, and flatware using the three-compartment sink or pot washer. Break down, spray, load, and unload items as they arrive, and return them to their designated storage locations.

  • Chemical Maintenance: Maintain and refill chemical detergents for dishwashers, pot washers, and other cleaning dispensers.

  • Sanitation Tasks: Clean baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables, and cutting boards. Sweep and mop floors, wash floor mats, and sanitize kitchen equipment, including dish machines, ice machines, pot machines, prep tables, hot boxes, and refrigerators.

  • Trash and Garbage Management: Separate and dispose of trash and garbage into designated containers. Handle biohazard clean-up as needed.

  • Linen Management: Monitor and manage linen inventories and remove soiled linen for laundering.

  • Equipment Transport: Transport equipment such as hot and cold boxes, speed racks, and push carts between hallways, kitchens, and other areas.

  • Equipment Polishing: Polish equipment as required.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Comply with all regulatory and departmental policies and procedures, including those from SNHD, OSHA, and the Fire Department.

  • Large Equipment Operation: Operate large electronic or gas-powered equipment, including ride-on floor scrubbers, pallet jacks, forklifts, trucks, and power washers.

  • Training Completion: Complete mandatory training in health and safety as required by the company and governing bodies.

  • Equipment Reporting: Report equipment issues to the direct supervisor.

  • Additional Duties: Perform other job duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work Schedule: Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.

  • Educational Background: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational experience.

  • Experience and Training: Minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience in stewarding or comparable experience and possession of a culinary training academy certification.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
