Job Summary
The role of Director of Sales is responsible for ensuring the sales manpower resources are deployed effectively to drive revenue streams across the key markets of Rosewood Amsterdam. The role involves preparing clear sales strategies for key market segments and channels of distribution and ensuring the agreed sales plans are implemented in accordance with industry best practice.
Strategic Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develops and executes a goal orientated commercial and e-commerce strategy that delivers the annual goals of the hotel’s business plan.
  • Is responsible for delivering revenue performance against business plan projections (including occupancy, average rate, revenue, RevPAR, and market share performance.)
  • Analyses sales performance statistics and adjusts sales team strategy in accordance with changes in the market.
Team Duties & Responsibilities
  • Overseas the planning, deployment, and day to day functioning of the sales team and is responsible for each team member achieving their personal goals and responsibilities.
  • Prepares and presents to the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) the individual sales targets of each team member to underpin the hotels agreed budgeted revenue objectives.
  • Completes quarterly reviews with assigned sales team of all accounts to ensure they are in-line with objectives. Recommend and oversee the implementation of remedial sales actions to target underperforming accounts.
  • Identifies key and potential accounts and deploys the sales team to act immediately in accordance with the agreed business development strategy.
  • Responsible for granting approval of established discounts for rooms and food and beverage sales including the closing of contractual terms for repeat or bulk business.
  • Conducts timely sales meetings with the sales team to provide appropriate levels of professional direction on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Shapes and develops realistic, transparent goals broken down by key market segments, presented in the form of a personal business plan.
  • Acquires new accounts and develops and penetrates further existing account in their dedicated market segments to drive business to the hotel.
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with key bookers and decision makers of their accounts.
  • Solidifies business relationships by signing contracts with key accounts of their markets in accordance with the rules and procedures of the relevant market segment.
  • Identifies, qualifies, and classifies their accounts into key retention, development, and acquisition accounts and monitors systematically the revenue performance of these.
  • Enters all account information including all relevant stakeholder contact information into SFDC.
  • Documents all sales activities in SFDC on a weekly basis.
  • Assists the DOSM to foster close long-term relationships with key accounts and introduces the Managing Director and DOSM to key players within key organizations.
  • Participates in planning and organizing key exhibitions, roadshows and sales trips to maximize the brand coverage and optimizes the production of short-, medium- and long-term business for the hotel.
  • Represents Rosewood Amsterdam at key events, sales trips, roadshows, product launches, and media events.
Qualifications
  • Previous experiences in Sales for a luxury property.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch
  • A valid work permit for the Netherlands is required to be considered for this role.
