Job Description

SCOPE
This position is responsible for managing all local computer technology and services in the fotel
which can include, but is not limited to: networks, hardware, operating systems, anti-virus, internet
access and all related systems, ofice automation and email systems, departmental systems for
front ofice, back ofice, sales & catering, personnel, spa, and other network based sofiware
supporting these systems; network security and compliance; where not the responsibility of the
Engineering department, cabling, access control system, voice and guest technologies. The role
will be responsible for management of the IT and potentially AV staff in the hotel. Maintains
inventory of all hardware products and software licenses, and reviews maintenance agreements.
Supervises, supports and trains staft and team members at IT Dept. The Director ofIT role is only
for larger hotels in MEA and China Regions.

OVERALL OBJECTIVES  
The job of Director of I’T is executed satisfactorily when:

  • All IT Systems are running smoothly in the hotel and the IT function is acting in a proactive
  • IT is driving effciencies in the use of applications enabling the other departments to
    successfully complete their tasks.
  • All Corporate IT related policies and procedures have been implemented and a successful
    self audit has been carried out.
  • The IT department runs to budget.
  • The hotel has an acceptable level ofPCI compliance.
  • All Kempinski standards related to guest facing technology are implemented to an
    acceptable level.
  • At Kempinski, Talent Development is a management responsibility and consequently an integral
    and important part ofour Managers’ daily activities.

The Director ofIT fulfils their role as a Talent Development Ambassador when:
  • They actively support and implement Talent Development initiatives as a part oftheir daily activities.
  • They identify Training talents in their department and throughout the hotels as per below
    definition* and actively support their career development.
  • They support and initiate transfer, cross exposure and task force assignments for their
    team.
  • They personally conduct TTTTs with their team on a regular basis and take personal
    interest for their talents’ development plans.
  • They recruit and select potential talent according to the Company’s current and fiture
    hotel, regional and worldwide needs including conducting interviews for positions in
    their department and their region.
