Job Description

The kitchen is where the magic happens in our Luxury Lodge – and you can be part of that! We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchenhand to join our team. 


The right applicant must be self motivated, a team player and work well in a high pressure environment. Duties include – 

  • Preparing menus in collaboration with colleagues
  • Ensuring adequacy of supplies at cooking stations
  • Training, developing and supporting junior chefs
  • Preparing ingredients that should be frequently available (vegetables, spices etc)
  • Following the guidance of the head or sous chefs and have input in new ways of presentation of dishes
  • Putting effort in optimising the cooking process with attention to speed and quality
  • Enforcing strict health and hygiene standards

 

What you will bring:

For this position, you must be self motivated, a team player and work well in a high pressure environment.  You will also need to:

  • Have a relevant, culinary qualification
  • Have proven experience in a Chef de Partie role, ideally with previous experience at a similar standard establishment.
  • Have excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes
  • Have the ability to think on your feet  as we have many guest requests and menu changes each day
  • Have good time management and the ability to multitask
  • Thorough understanding of Health & Safety requirements
