Job Description

Ready for a sizzling career move? You will play a pivotal role in our pastry kitchen working alongside a fantastic team. The food you prepare, cook and serve makes our guests smile and wanting more.

About the role:

  • Assist the Asst Pastry Chef / Pastry Chef in supervising and overseeing the daily operations of the pastry team.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Create, prepare and present menu items and specials.
  • Communicate with Pastry team smoothly to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Responsible for guiding the Demi Chef de Partie and Commis and in the performance of their jobs in accordance to resort policies and procedures. 
  • Keep a minimum waste proactively in controlling food cost levels.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position in an international luxury brand. Maldives’ work experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Strong multicultural awareness and ability to work with people from diverse cultures.
  • Great attention to detail and creativity especially for buffet presentations.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, health and safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Outgoing personality, excellent communication skills, flexible working hours, ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
