THE JOB:

As a Beverage Manager you will be responsible for providing direction and leadership to the Beverage and Cocktails team at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. In addition to ensuring high customer satisfaction and an exceptional guest experience, this includes training, creating the schedule for, and monitoring the performance of staff, achieving the operational and financial goals for each beverage venue and remaining compliant to our MGM Resorts service standards.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Responsible for monitoring of daily beverage operations, fiscal budgets, guest service standards, and execution of marketing strategies to produce both short-term and long-term profitability.

  • Accountable for par levels for supplies, liquor, beer, wine and equipment, completing requisitions to replenish shortages or additional items needed for the anticipated business.

  • Responsible for execution of policies, operating procedures, training programs, directives, menus, work schedules, rules and regulations for the beverage staff.

  • Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel and coach beverage staff for the efficient operation of the department.

  • Drive employee engagement through coaching, training, and development.

  • Collaborate with Human Resources regarding employee relations.

  • Maintain the highest standards of health, sanitation and cleanliness in all areas of Beverage.

  • Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.

  • Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in outlets, the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list, designated glassware and garnishes for drinks, all bar menu items, preparation method/time, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentation and prices.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

  • Either a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Two (2) or more years of experience in the Food and Beverage department in a resort setting

  • The ability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Two (2) or more years of experience in the Food and Beverage department in a resort setting

  • Has knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems and operations

  • Has experience managing a team’s performance and productivity

  • Has demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask

  • Has provided excellent customer service in a high volume environment
