    To ensure satisfaction by offering the highest caliber of service to all Guests upon arrival and departure and throughout the length of their stay. Supervise all Bellmen during their shift.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Manager on Duty, your responsibilities and essential job functions will be subject to assignment on shift and will include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service
    • Adhere to Front Office policies, procedures, and service standards
    • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel lobby, the front entrance and curbside of the hotel. Ensure that the bell carts and the luggage storage areas are clean and well-maintained
    • To be positioned at the Bell desk to provide or arrange assistance with luggage handling, including storing, retrieving, and delivering luggage; upon arrival, and departure to and from the guestroom or to locations specified by the guest within the perimeter of the hotel
    • Monitor and manage luggage storage, ensuring secure handling and prompt delivery
    • When requested or anticipated, will provide Guests with information and answers to questions about Hotel facilities, meeting functions, dining facilities, local transportation alternatives, local visitor and tourist attractions. If unable to provide the required assistance, seek out and refer to another resource for successful completion
    • Conduct and perform similar duties as outlined and required of the Bell person
    • Organize taxis and catch-a-ride suppliers for in-house guests and patrons
    • To oversee and direct Guest Service colleagues on a shift basis, ensuring customer satisfaction is consistently obtained and adherence to service standards
    • To organize and expedite handling of group baggage. To post applicable porterage charges to the appropriate accounts
    • Sharing breakdown of disbursement of tour gratuities on gratuity sheets
    • Effectively review all daily reports and utilize information systems as E-mail, pass on sheets, Daily Function listing, VIP list, and act upon requirements in a timely fashion.
    • Pass on at start of shift via shift briefings and Pass on at the end of the shift via hand overs
    • Assist with Bell Person and Doorperson responsibilities as required
    • Adhere to all hotel safety and security procedures.
    • Assist in fire alarms by fulfilling duties as outlined in the hotel evacuation response manual
    • Assist in ensuring guest and co-worker safety and security by reporting any suspicious or unusual behavior or occurrence to the appropriate supervisor on duty, and informing security
    • Maintain effective communication with the front desk, concierge, and other departments to ensure seamless guest service
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Passion for delivering outstanding luxury levels of guest service.
    • Must provide a Driver’s Abstract and possess a Class 5 Driver’s License, with the ability to drive standard transmission.
    • Previous experience in Guest Services is preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in 5 star hotel or equivalent environment
    • Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment while remaining calm and collective.
    • Knowledge of hotel services and Calgary is an asset.
    • Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
    • Post-secondary education in hospitality is an asset.
    • Must be capable of frequently lifting heavy items, up to 50 lbs.
