Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Monitors Main Bank transactions and documentation to ensure compliance with Indiana Gaming Commission regulations and Indiana Horse Racing Commission regulations, policies, and procedures. 

 

DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: None

 

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepares Pari-mutuel and Sportsbook bankroll’s, sheet(s) and reconciliation sheet(s). Balances Main Bank inventories. 
  • Processes Main Bank Transactions and conducts all drop and count procedures for Pari-Mutuel and Sports Wagering operations at the OTB facility. 
  • Verifies that all Main Bank documentation is prepared properly and in accordance with internal control Standards. 
  • Complies with Indiana Gaming Commission and Indiana Horse Racing Commission Regulations, approved internal controls, as well as company policies. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

EDUCATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma required, College Degree with Financial or Business background preferred.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be computer literate. Ability to perform assigned duties in highly interruptive conditions and under constant pressure. Must be able to compute mathematical totals quickly and accurately. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent guest service skills. Ability to analyze Main Bank transactions. Ability to maintain accuracy of cash and supporting documentation. Ability to use good judgment in intense situations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must qualify for, obtain and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission. Must qualify for, obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Diverse, fast-paced, deadline driven, multi-project coordination, prioritizing and flexing to accommodate last minute requests and changes.  Must be able to work independently.  Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time. Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee conflicts.                  Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property. Responds to visual and aural cues. Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.  Must be able to tolerate areas containing second-hand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights.  Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
