The Analyst, Capital Planning is responsible for compiling data and reports relating to existing properties and the capital planning process. They will support the Capital Planning team with the design and implementation of asset management software and be responsible for maintaining it. The Analyst will also compile key capital planning reports, support the development of property master visions and renovation scopes, and help monitor renovation progress. This position requires a productive self-starter who is flexible, receptive to a challenge, organized, capable of multi-tasking and working with little supervision, pitches-in as necessary and above all, has a positive and professional attitude.  

This role is based in Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Toronto Corporate Office, reporting to the Director, Strategy and Integration. This role involves interactions with primarily internal stakeholders at various levels.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Renovation Projects

  • Develop and utilize tools necessary to monitor, report, and provide strategic advice for capital planning.
  • Help identify the information technology (IT) and business needs for capital planning processes.
  • Support development of scope, budget, schedule, ROI analysis, and other supporting documentation to initiate identified renovation projects.
  • Analyze budgets to identify cost savings opportunities. 
  • Support monitoring of renovation progress, reviewing critical milestones, schedules, and program requirements.
  • Work closely with Capital Planning Director(s) to discuss and establish processes for team.

Asset Management Database

  • Support creation of asset management database to inform and influence Hotels/Owners on their renovation priorities.
  • Gather information through data methods such as interviews, forms, etc., to build new asset management database, identifying areas for improvement and determining solutions.
  • Assist in the collection, cleaning, and preparation of data from diverse sources for analytical processes.
  • Build and maintain database using collected data.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present data in an insightful manner, facilitating business decision-making.
  • Work closely with the Capital Planning team to interpret and analyze data patterns, trends, and insights to aid in business decision-making and to contribute to the formulation of business strategies.
  • Use analytical methods to evaluate challenges and provide actionable information that can help improve operational performance, organizational processes and efficiencies, support problem-solving, decision-making, and growth.
  • Analyze risk, recommend business process improvements, and forecast outcomes.

Reporting

  • Prepare annual capital plans, quarterly capital status reports, and quarterly capital renovation newsletters to the field highlighting upcoming milestone dates, planned and completed renovations.
  • Prepare post-renovation completion reports including metrics, as required.
  • Create reports for senior leaders and decision-makers.

Global Programs

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify Global Programs (issued by Corporate Finance) of relevance and integrate financial requirements in Capital Plans.

Travel

  • Travel required 20% of the time.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in related architectural, engineering, design, real estate, or construction industry required.
  • Minimum 2 years Data Analyst experience with business acumen (including finance).
  • Experience in Hotels or a related industry with project, construction and/or asset management beneficial.
  • Hotel and/or quality surveying experience is an asset.
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Analytics or Engineering preferred.
  • Hospitality experience considered an asset.
  • Focus on asset planning and project management preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation beneficial.

  • Strong quantitative, mathematical, and technical skills to use various tools for data analytics, predictive analytics, and data visualization.
  • Ability to analyze a variety of data at a high level and synthesize information.
  • Ability to work across global and cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of data analysis methodologies and a demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a capacity to interpret complex data and transform it into actionable insights.
  • Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc). Experience with PowerBI and Tableau beneficial.
  • Good understanding of financial and economic modelling and analysis.
  • Good visual communication skills with proficiency in creating and editing graphic presentations.
  • Understanding of file management.

This role will be a Hybrid working model, which will require 3 days per week in the Four Seasons Corporate Office located at 1165 Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario #LI-Hybrid
