Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  
Understands and responds to internal guests needs.  Communicates in a friendly, respectful and understandable manner.  Politely gives consistent, timely and accurate information and finds answer when unsure.  Uses outlined service behaviors when encountering guests.   Meets expected service delivery times as defined by department’s service standards or as required by receiver of service or goods.  Is a team player, cooperates with employees within the department as well as other departments.  Speaks positively about the company, co-workers and guests.
 
Prepares and finishes cakes, cookies, doughs, breads, mixes and any other items produced in the Pastry Shop according to house specifications and recipes.  Checks production schedule to determine variety and quantity needed.  Maintains a high level of quality in baking and consistency.  Decorates and finishes all cakes, pastry (e.g. birthday, wedding, etc.) according to specifications.  Has thorough understanding and knowledge of usage of all equipment used in the Pastry Shop.  Works and maintains workstation in compliance with standards set by State and Local Health Department codes. Reports all violations and malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Pastry Chef.
 
EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Related experience in a high-volume bakery or pastry shop.  Culinary school preferred.  Good communication skills.
